History | Press Release | Artists | Interviews

8-6-2003

If you weren't doing what you're doing now, what would you be doing?

I'd be at home, in front of the computer making music

What were you like as a teenager? Did you play any musical instruments?

Yes, I was (and still am in a limited sense) a guitar player in various punk bands

What advise do you have for beginning musicians/artists?

Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it, Let your music come from your soul rather than try and imitate the latest chart hit . . . if it doesn't work first time don't become disillusioned . . perseverance is everything.

What is more important to you as a musician: Theory and methodology,or outcome? Why?

Outcome Every time . . . theory is a tether to creativity

What really gets your blood boiling?

The current world Situation . . .
Intolerance of any kind
I could go on . . but won't ;o)

Are there any bands/musicians you're excited about right now?

The new Killing Joke album (www.killingjoke.com) is a true return to form

I'm guessing that your musical forays have not made you a millionaire... do you have "real" job?

I do . . unfortunately :o)

What are your musical goals for the next year?

No real goals, I'm just going to keep things moving along the way they are.

What are the primary ingredients for a great song?

A good bassline always helps . . .

What do you want the listener to get out of the music?

Whilst I really make music to make myself happy, if the end listener gets enjoyment out of it as well then that makes things doubly good.

What was the first instrument you learned, and what other instruments do you play?

I'll try my hand at most instruments to a greater or lesser degree, I guess Guitar Bass & Keyboards are my main instruments though.

At what point did you realize or were told that you had the talent to be a performer/musician?

I don't think that is something that I can decide for myself, it's up to others to judge my talent

Someday when you are a big star, and you get the chance to do an album of all cover songs, which 10-12 songs would you pick to do?

My past experience of covering other peoples songs is that it's normally best left to the original artist ;o)

What is your worst experience as a musician?

This questionnaire ? :oP
